We need the continuing support of Bradley residents if our park project is to be successful!
Ways to get involved!
- Use the Park – it’s free! – Go for a walk, use the playground, jog or run, take a picnic, take the family. Let’s see the place busy again.
- Join us -all it costs is a little of your spare time – we meet at 7pm until 9pm on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month. Meetings are held at our temporary home, the Bradley TRA on Alandale Road – Come along and see first hand what we’re up to- everybody is welcome!
- Become a trustee. Trustees are the executive of FoBP and are collectively responsible for all of the activities of the charity and all of our assets. We currently have 4 trustees but can have up to 12. Don’t worry full training will be given and you’ll have the support of the rest of the team!
- Donate to Friends of Bradley Park charity. Every penny raised goes to improving the park and facilities (we receive no government or council funding).
Funding raised so far will provide a new building and bring the park into community ownership but the need to raise funds will still continue. Cutting the grass and maintaining the 16 acres site alone will cost the charity thousands of pounds every year; in addition we will have to furnish and maintain all the buildings and equipment. We are a charity run by volunteers on a not for profit basis so every penny you donate will be spent on maintaining and improving Bradley Park.
Who are the Friends of Bradley Park
We are soon to be one of Huddersfields’ biggest landowners… We are all people you know and we are all local residents who give up some of our space time for free..
We meet at 7pm on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month in our temporary meeting rooms and offices at the Bradley TRA, 25 Alandale Road, HD2 1SB; everyone is welcome and we’ve always got the kettle on! if you like us (and we’re sure you will) you can join as a new member or charity trustee. As the project progresses there will also be opportunities to engage in many aspects of owning and running a park and building … To get involved contact us or come along to our next meeting.
